Frozen Soapscape
February 28, 2014
I revisited the idea of frozen bubbles today. God knows I have more than enough chances this winter to go outside and freeze them at dawn. There I was, 6:30am, right before I left for work, lying in the snow in the middle of my yard shooting bubbles no bigger than a half-dollar. The larger ones kept popping once they hit the snow. I had about 20 tiny frozen orbs scattered in this area, and I am sure neighbors once again question their choices, just waiting for the light to hit them the way I wanted. Not bad, still wish I could get the larger ones to last, I could show more detail, but I am happy with the results. Here is the first set from last December. This will be attempted again, but I am ready to call it for this season. We don’t need to keep it cold on my account.

Very cool. (No pun intended.)
