A drive to Royalston to walk the dog around Doane’s Falls. Well, my wife walked Argus, I was busy.

For the majority of the trip, the weather here in Iceland has been great, It’s winter, but it has been bearable. I like the cold over heat anyway, so jacket, gloves now and then, nothing a New Englander is not used to. Today the storm showed up, and other than a couple stops, it was a driving day. Now we have the best driver on the Island in the Icelandic Transporter (think Jason Statham), Aron, and his beast of a truck, so we were fine. It is everyone else though. Cars off the road, trucks stuck on Mountains so traffic can’t, tourists white-knuckling the steering wheel with the hazards on doing 2mph on one-lane roads. Add in insane wind, white-out snow drifting across the road, and it is Iceland, it made for an adventurous drive to Reykjavik. Check out below how the wind jus wipes out Seljalandsfoss.

A favorite waterfall in New Hampshire. We snowshoed down to the base of Glen Ellis Falls in Gorham. It looked slightly different than when we saw it last October.

As God is my witness…

Got the drone out over another snowy day. Couple days ago it was low shots, these I got a bit higher.

One of these snowstorms could be pretty enough to photograph, until then I will make tiny ugly snowmen.

12:19:59am is the timestamp on this photo, the camera does not tell me the temperature. Cold, I would say it was cold, kneeling on a dog mat in icy snow looking up through the viewfinder of the D580 with the Nikon 200-400mm lens attached to the tripod. Wondering a few things, like why I am not in bed, why I did not bring the gloves out with me, who will be the one who finds my frozen carcass since the family and the dogs have all gone to sleep, does TB12’s drive in the 4th quarter and the one in overtime each count separately as comeback drives, who comes up with these ‘super mean wolf red dwarf moon’ namey things and don’t I have enough photos of the damn moon? The specs of this photo are: 400mm, 1.6sec at f4.0, ISO 3200, the tripod burnt my hand in the cold way when I went to bring it inside. It was cool that the sky cleared so those of us that were daring enough could witness it, next time I hope it is scheduled in the summer, and maybe like 1 in the afternoon.
