A path. Every path goes somewhere. Even if it is nowhere. This is not meant to be deep. This path honestly goes nowhere. Though you would be somewhere else.

Dear Iceland,
It has been a year since we met. I think of you daily. Do you think of me?
Keep being you.

Dan and I took a quick road trip to Cleveland for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and it was a blast.

Congratulations to Laura and Paul… you could run off the energy of their wedding for years, rock and roll never looked so happy. I went to a wedding and a concert broke out, my kind of event.

To quote Adam Lambert… “I know many of you are thinking, bro, you’re no Freddie Mercury. Well, no sh*t.”
He does not need to be, he is Adam Lambert. Brian May, Roger Taylor and Adam did a fine job, it was an incredible show tonight at the Garden. I may never get to see Freddie (though he was there in spirit and on screen), but I am happy to say I saw Queen. Only phone photos, it was a great night out with the family.

In August of 2004 my wife and I had tickets to see Prince in Boston. I do not recall buying them, I do recall almost not going. Two young kids, and crappy job, just tired all the time, the last thing I wanted to do was drag myself to Boston, traffic, deal with the parking, crowds, it was so hot. I was ready to give my ticket away to her mother, sister, a friend… anyone but me. She convinced me last minute to shut up and just go. I have seen more concerts than many, that show was the best performance I had seen and probably ever will see, by anyone. It was a religious experience, the man was awe inspiring. His talent, his energy, his appreciation for the crowd, I talk about that show more than any other one I’ve seen, we were just talking with friends saying I want to go see him again. I am truly fortunate I went that hot August night. It is a sad loss, among so many other resent sad losses. R.I.P. Prince Rogers Nelson.
“Dearly beloved, We are gathered here today, To get through this thing called life.”

U2@The Garden
July 11, 2015
From late last night, I went to see U2 with my son at Boston Garden. Took a hand full of photos, enjoyed most of the show phone/camera free…unlike the moron in front of me, that from the first song recorded everything with a flip phone (not a joke, legit flip phone – with video?). I love photo more than most, but it is amazing to watch people at events like this. ‘Engagement’ is a word that has changed over the years. No matter what, it was an incredible show, the stage was perfect.

Whiskey Church
June 14, 2015
Spent the evening with Church… Whiskey Church. I watched these guys collect a bunch of trophies at the Local Music Awards last month, I never had any doubt, but after tonight I know why. Chip spends more time in the air or hanging from the rafters than on the floor. The hardest part of my night was figuring out where he was. I could hear him, but he was serenading the crowd one at a time somewhere in the dark. Do yourself a favor, check them out, they cover Flashdance, yes that Flashdance. Great show guys.

The Sly

I am confident enough in my ability to take a photo, to post a bad one now and then. Though, you will notice my watermark is missing, I am posting it, but I am not proud of it… I have over 50 cameras out of them 5 active ones. I always have a camera with me, but this morning I did not grab the pocket camera, the battery was low, was not sure if the card was in it… just could not have been bothered to get it all together. I actually had the thought, it was like a joke Mitch Hedberg (my favorite comedian) had: “See I sit in my hotel at night, I think of something that’s funny and then I go get a pen and I write it down. Or if the pen’s too far away, I have to convince myself that what I thought of ain’t funny.” That’s what I did, I convinced myself I was not going to need to take a picture today, or at least until I got home. I left the house, cameraless. About 2 miles from my house, I see a fox sleeping in the sun on a rock right on the side of the road. It was awesome, light was perfect, beautiful backdrop… no camera. I snapped this photo, it stinks, because I used a phone, just using the phone makes me mad… annoyed, I turned around and went home, to get the real camera. Went back to the rock figuring it would be gone. It was so close to the road, no way it was going to hang out as cars drove by, but there it was, still there enjoying the light. I rolled down the window, raised up the camera just as the damn bus hurdled by with loud kids, then gone. It jumped off the rock as I pushed the shutter. I missed it. I got one photo before it hide behind the rocks further away, but not the shot I wanted. All I am left with is this crap phone photo. I do not miss many photos, but when I do… I get very annoyed, annoyed enough to publicly post a bad photo as punishment. I offer you all this advice: 1. always have a camera if you want to get great photos. #2. A phone IS NOT a camera.

The Wall

Less about the photo and more about the process. Today is day 1804 of my daily photo project, 3 weeks from tomorrow completes 5 years, 1826 days consecutively sharing a photo. It started as a post on Facebook, 2 years ago it moved to the blog on this page. There are 3 years of photos out there that many people have never seen. I recently upgraded my website with a portfolio section. I am going through and adding the dailypic sets. Click here to see year one, October 1, 2009 to September 30, 2010. It is fun to go back and look at them, see the difference between now and then. I will share the links to the next years as I build them.
