Along the Rail
October 12, 2013
Snuck North with my wife for the long weekend. We had thought about a trip to celebrate the dueling birthday’s that end with zero, then our anniversary is next week… to be honest we are not sure what we are celebrating, it is just nice to be away. We took a hike to Ripley Falls in Crawford Notch. Nice falls, but not real photogenic, it does not translate well, still a nice hike. To get to them you cross this track, we hiked down that for a while, high above the roadways along the mountain. The foliage is hanging on up here, about a week past peak, but that has not stopped the bus loads of peepers. They are everywhere, cameras in hand. Below are some more shots from the hike. I am going back into my cabin and to watch the Sox game by the fire… the wifi only works on the porch outside, as my daughter would say, 1st world problems. btw: You have no idea how close this picture was to being named “Do you want to see a dead body”, but it would look weird on the mat when it is all framed and on display.
