
One of the biggest attractions in Iceland to me is the roads themselves. They never fail to impress. This was one that we encountered outside of Patreksfjörður, route 614. This stretch in the photo is about a mile and a half long and is steep, narrow, and all dirt. From the top of a mountain to a gorgeous beach. If you ever done the Mt. Washington Auto road, think that multiplied by 20. In the photo below I marked my van to give a better sense.

I thought it was a snake at first. Those turns must be hair-raising.
