The Highlands, Iceland, Summer 2023. I spent one day there, and I felt cheated. The most beautiful landscapes I have ever seen, and I saw only a fraction. The color, the light, the scenery changed each minute. I was ahead of a storm until I wasn’t. The overcast and rain made the drama dramatic. While taking most of these, I was alone, like really alone. Now and then, a buggy would zoom by, but I saw no one for a long time. I felt privileged and intruding at the same time.
This post is sharing the drone photos – DJI Mavic Pro 3 – before the rain (and a couple after). Tomorrow I will share the ones from the ground, including the rain hike I took through a lava field.
