I finally feel like I am at a place to share this post. The barn is about done, and I love it. From original thought to today has been eight months, though I challenge this was thought about long before I knew the plan. It is a pre-engineered, pre-cut, color-coded post and beam building kit from Country Carpenters in Hebron, CT. I learned of them through my contractor, and it turns out there are two more barns in my town from Country Carpenters (and I believe there will be even more soon). My wife, dogs and I made the trip to Hebron last summer to check out what they offer. It is worth the drive. Bill was my contact there, he toured us around the property where they have five or so barns set up for display. You can pick out features you like, customize it to your needs and they get you plans and walk you through the process step by step. Incredible customer service, I paid to have them arrive with the delivery and work the first day with my builders. Two trucks, one crane and two guys from Country Carpenters showed up on November 27th at 8 am, by 4 pm I had a frame set up in my yard that resembled a barn.
After that my builders took over, Tucker Construction of Bellingham. Justin and his crew built an addition on my house a few years back. I knew they would do a great job, but this is over and above. The custom additions to the kit are incredible, the attention to detail, the craftsmanship, add in that a project like this is stressful even in the best of situations, Justin just keeps it all on track and by doing so kept me sane, or as sane as one could expect. In addition, I had excellent service from some other local Medway businesses, Dan O’DriscollLand Surveying Co. Jim Daniels of James Daniels Electric did an incredible job on the electrical, I have a ton of exposed walls and open studs being a barn and Jim made it look awesome. His attention to detail in the wires, seems simple but I have had so many compliments on how organized it all looks. To have lights and outlets where I need them and even more important not where I don’t need them is fantastic. And heating this place was not easy, but Mike of Total Comfort Solutions got me up, running and warm while working hard to stay within my budget. Thank you to everyone who had a part in this project, the results speak for themselves.

All I can say is WOW! What an awesome studio! It is so you! Seems like you really have everything all under one roof! I love the loft area! I love the whole concept! You have already got such a good reputation for your photography, and I just know with this new studio people will come from miles around. I wish you all the best in all your photographic endeavors!
