Water Ring

Anyone else set up an old fish tank in their basements so the could take a photo tonight? Yeah, I didn’t think so. So on my timricephto Facebook page I posted that I was taking suggestions for today’s dailypic.  I did it once last year and ended up a popular photo called salt and pepper.  Figured I’d give it a try again, see what you guys come up with, maybe it’s something I’ll do once a month. One of the suggestions was a water drop and another was marbles,  the intent was  fill the fish tank with water,  set up the new high-speed flash trigger, drop some marbles into the tank and get some cool shots.  These shots don’t always work out the way I plan. The marbles weren’t triggering the high-speed flash until they hit the bottom of the tank, by then it’s too late.  The backup plan was just to get a picture of a water drop, using the same set up.  I got a couple, nothing I am really crazy about, I kind of like this one. This is a work in progress, I’ll give it another try someday, I will add a 2nd flash, maybe some gels to change the color of the water. I would try to do some more tonight, but the family decided to play their new Xbox dance game and the stomping on the floor sets off the high-speed flash which when you’re sitting in a pitch dark basement the last thing you need is a strobe light going off in your face. I’m pretty sure if I passed out and might be until Monday before anyone noticed. I left it all set up, might play some more tomorrow. Thanks for the ideas.
