See, you think this is a Christmas photo because you see Santa, but nope, it is an anti-Christmas photo. It is like Born in the USA, just because the album cover got Bruce in a White shirt, blue jeans and a red hat in his pockets does not make it a pro-USA song. Thanksgiving gets taken over a bit more every year by Christmas. It seems we jump the Christmas season up more and more on the calendar. Let Thanksgiving breathe, just because it is neighboring the horrific Black Friday does not mean it should be guilty by association. It is not the prep day for shopping, it is not a day to decorate the house, it is a day to be thankful for what you have, not what you have to do. Enjoy the day as it is, I would even vote to take Santa out of the Retail Commercial Parade in NYC. Know before you get mad at me, this is not targeted at anyone in particular (que note from my Mom here – hi Mom), these are merely my thoughts, my wishes, it’s my blog. I have friends that have their Christmas Lights up, Christmas Trees decorated, I am sure gifts purchased and wrapped, and are enjoying the season already. This does not mean we can’t be friends. I just find Turkey day to be trampled on a bit, and since it is my favorite I try to protect it. We don’t set fireworks off on Memorial Day with July 4th a month away. I don’t hide eggs on Valentine’s Day. Tomorrow I will eat, drink, but I will hold off on Merry, there is plenty of time when the clock strikes midnight.

It has always been a pet peeve with me that as soon as Halloween is over, the Christmas stuff appears! I always loved Thanksgiving and all it represents. Of course my birthday falls on Turkey day every 6 or 7 yrs(?)
I loved the family time, nothing expected except good food and fellowship with family and friends.
Everything is just too commercial. A big money game. We need to take more time being Thankful than jumping into Christmas shopping. Dec. 1st is soon enough for that! Just saying!!!!
