Hello, I am back — and so is the dailypic. 13 days, 5,000 miles, 11 states, a lot of photos, the Middle Ground Trip is done. I landed back a day earlier than I thought I would. I covered more miles than I should have yesterday to beat the holiday traffic. I failed at being productive today, but I did update my map. Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri all added, bringing me to 6 unreached states. I don’t see Hawaii happening, not even sure about Alaska, but those 4 over there in the Northwest will be added one day.
The trip was great. I photographed fewer people than I had hoped, but the people I did were above and beyond. I documented a lot of downtowns that might not be here much longer — that really became the theme of the subjects: “middle” of towns in rural areas. I have plenty of thoughts and even more photos. I’ll be doubling up on dailypic posts soon, maybe starting on the 5th. Relax for a few days, get some film developed, and then start sharing. Stay tuned, but I’m back to a post every day.
