I had a few senior sessions today before the rain came in. One was with Katie. I first met her as a freshman, camera in hand, photographing sports for the high school. Since then, we’ve worked side by side at countless school events, she’s invited me into her class to talk photography, and we’ve spent time sharpening her skills together. She’s even stepped in for me at events I couldn’t make. Next year, I’ll miss having her nearby to swap stories and talk photos—but I have no doubt she’ll keep a camera close and be a great success as she takes on whatever’s next. But before that, we have a whole school year to photograph.
