With This Ring

We have a hole in our yard – we refer to it as the pit. Well, the addition has started, the foundation is in. This ring was found in the pit. Seems to be a wedding band, with the initials W.W.H. inside (I guess it could be H.M.M. too), it was in the ground somewhere in the backyard. The house is old, 1880ish, we find trash in the yard all the time, glass, cans, hardware, I once found a old toy army man. This is the first jewelry item, now it is just a mystery item to add to the collection.
