The Defiant Dog
January 17, 2015
It has been a difficult few days, but today we tried to make the best of it. Our beloved friend Parker has been given a few days to live. The price of a pet’s unconditional love is it expires. We overcame the shock and decided to celebrate with the time we have left. Now, Parker not been the most social of creatures – he enjoys barking, and barking, then barking some more… with a tone that scares most that don’t know him. We figured we would take him to the park, now anyone can take a dog to the dog park, Parker deserves the people park, where he can bark at people and sniff things, his two favorite things in the world. We walked everywhere he took us – following his nose, took photos, kept some ice skaters on edge and ran the baseball field without a leash. Followed it up with a trip to T.C. Scoops to get some ice cream. A peanut butter Pup Cup and sundaes for the rest of us, to make the adventure complete. It was a great afternoon, I can tell he enjoyed it because even as he sleeps on the normally forbidden couch, there is still a grin on his defiant face. Tomorrow, day 2 of the ‘Weekend of Parker’ is family portrait day.

Beautiful pictures. Enjoy every minute with him.
Such treasured photos of family and Parker. Sorry he isn’t to be with you any longer. Didn’t know he wasn’t well.
I am sure he will be missed, bur never forgotten.
Such precious pictures! It is SO hard to lose a pet, as they truly become part of your family. So very sorry for your imminent loss, however, how lucky you are to have such beautiful pictures for your family to cherish. I have only a few snapshots of my childhood dog, but if I had shots like this I think I would have them hanging on my walls even today.
