Thank you to all the Veterans who’ve served our country. For today’s photo I grabbed an envelope that has been in my possession since my Grandfather Rice passed away in 2001. We found it while cleaning out his apartment and my Father allowed me to hang on to it. Written on the outside of the the envelope was the name of my Grandfather’s older Brother Henry E. Rice, a Framingham MA address and ‘Army 1918’. In the envelope was a large circle patch, a smaller blue, cloth pin that looks to be the emblem of the Army Air Corps and 4 dog tags, all with Henry’s name on them. I do know from family history Henry served in WWI, so it makes sense that is where the tags are from. The patch and pin I can not verify. A quick Google search and I find the Army Air Corps was founded around WWII, so I am not sure if these all go together. I know I have more I need to dig out, these were not the only military pieces I collected that day. I have some things belonging to a younger brother Robert -whom I have many fond memories of, I added a photo of him in uniform, from his service time in WWII.
