Today, my first full day in Romania, I explored the streets of Bucharest. It was over 100 degrees, and I still walked about 12 miles. More walking than photos. Took in the scenes—a fascinating and beautiful city. I felt like a stranger among the many, and I thought I stuck out. I tried to talk to people when the opportunity arose, but I was unsuccessful at times. I found the camera, put some on guard, not in a bad way. They seemed cautious, which I respected and understood. Some of the attractions I went to did not allow photography at all. The longest conversation I had was with an immigrant from Iceland who has been living here for three years. He approached me in a grocery store when he saw my Rune tattoo on my arm, and he mistakenly took me for an Icelandic. The world is so small, yet filled with strangers, I’m more than happy to explore.

What a life you have. Thank you for sharing.
Strangers are just friends we have not yet met.
I really enjoyed these photos.
I’ve always loved artistic public fountains and the images embedded within them spouting streams of water. Whimsical, sometimes funny, beautiful. The international signage, use of technology, people living their lives. So similar, even if very different.
Love these pictures !
