the dailypic 5465 yr15 352 Veiðivötn Crater

10:35 pm Monday night, I have been sitting in my studio for over twelve hours. Editing, working, sorting, testing, ordering, answering the calls, texts, emails, an office day. A needed office day, the admin work has been piling up, all the non-camera-related work of a photographer. I would not change it for anything; I enjoy this stuff as much as taking photos – it reminds me how lucky I am to work for myself. At 10:26 pm, the computer reminded me of one order I had not placed; a side effect of that ‘working for myself’ is not ‘myself’ is not the best reminding me of things—an extra external hard drive. I used my backup as a travel drive when I went to Iceland. I usually have a 4TB drive waiting to jump into the rotation; I go through about four to five a year. This time of year, even quicker. Editing school photos came to a dead halt. I knew the second the software slowed just for a second… I have no more space. So, I guess my day is finally over, and it is time to clock out. Why not look at some Iceland photos, since I have not touched them since I returned.

Today’s dailypic was to be a Senior Session photo from yesterday, but it is too hard to work on the computer until the new drive gets here. I will have it early tomorrow, no stress. So, I will share a drone shot from Iceland. I believe this is Veiðivötn crater – one of the first spots in the Highlands we stopped. I will verify and correct if I am wrong, but it was gorgeous. The sand was so fine. It just moved like it was alive when the wind blew. This crater lake is buried miles from the road, with colors that changed at the angle I had the drone. Right in the middle of the water is a group of Icelandic Ducks enjoying the peace. I envy them, they don’t need to remember about the extra drives.

Funny how you get the “smack” in the head to stop working at just the moment. Now I see why you want to go there all the time.
