the dailypic 3647 yr10 360 Vermont View

I spent a few days in Vermont, took a solo mini-vacation, me, my truck, cameras, drone, and my broken foot (yes I have a broken foot). Weather was OK, humid, some rain. Was during the week so it was quiet, not may tourists and leaf peepers. I had two goals, one I wanted to drive Rte 100, just one of my favorite roads and the subject of a similar road trip I took with a different car, much different film camera, no drone, and my feet were excellent, 25 years back. Two, I wanted 25 photos that could be postcards – the same goal I had last time. This was not about getting a ton of photos it was about getting the right photos. Three days I ended with a set of 50 that if I got chooser I am sure I widdle this down to 25 solid choices. The foot made me rethinking some actions, I am known for just heading to get the photo – over, under, around, whatever I need to to get to the spot I want – I will figure out how to get back later. The best example of that was from the first VT road trip, I parked the car on the side of the road, middle of nowhere. Saw a waterfall and slide down a very steep embankment to get to it. Took a couple of shots (Never really liked them after they were developed) and could not go back the way I came, it was too steep. Had to walk half a mile up stream to get to a spot I could access the road, then half a mile back down the road to get to the car, which was still running where I left it. This time, the drone did some of the hiking for me. Iceland will always be my favorite landscape to photograph, but until I get back there, I will always have Vermont to visit now and then.
