Food Class

I spent time with a class of culinary students at a local Vocational Technical High School this morning. I was invited to speak to them about photographing food. We talked about plating, lighting, some basic camera tips, the art of “selfies”, hand models and the epidemic of photo bombing. If is safe to say they will have better luck with their iPhones than their class camera, and that might not be a bad thing. They are on the right track with their food and the pictures, I wish them all success. I hope someday to be sitting in a restaurant and taking pictures of their delicious looking meals before I enjoy it.
