Initially taken on May 22, 2021, no one had seen this photo, including me, until last week. I had just purchased two hot dogs from a gas station a mile down the road. I was parked in a dirt lot on Highway 264 off Rte 1 in the south of Iceland. It was raining. I had passed this man three times during my exploration of the area. Though I never spoke to him, I am sure he was making the ring road loop on his bike—a common trek. I loved the contrast and isolation of this moment.

So why has it never been seen? The curse of the dailypic. The ‘daily’ part is vital with my photos. After those hot dogs and this photo, I ventured west with no real plan that led to a port. I bought a ticket for a ferry and took my truck to the island of Vestmannaeyjar (click to read that post). I saw a puffin that was in the dailypic on May 22, 2021. I am sure readers of this post think they have seen my Iceland photos from that trip. You did. You saw a handful. Whatever I shared that day. But again, the daily thing… I came back. I got busy, and unless I am being paid or I do all my photos within the days they are taken, many sit unedited, unseen and sometimes forgotten. Iceland 2021 fell victim to that. 80% of the images had not even been sorted or processed for almost two years. I have been working on building a new website for ALL my non-cleint work, in doing so I learned of their ignored status. So they are now finished. You can see them all here. Waterfalls, Horses, Caves, and Volcanos, are all there.

And if you like you can find all my photos at this new location. Landscapes, Birds, Nature, Toys, Trips, the only thing I believe is missing is my road trip to Montanta – another set that has fallen victim to the daily curse. Most are for sale, they are even searchable, put a keyword in the search box and see where it takes you. Might make a good bookmark for when you are bored. The link is also on my website under portfolio galleries. And FYI, if my guess was correct and that biker was doing the ring road loop, he would have biked 1322 km (820 miles) and it takes about 2 weeks straight riding. I drove it in 2017, you can see those photos in the Iceland Summer 2017 set at the same link. And the title: ‘þjóðvegur’ means ‘highway’ and sounds nothing like you think by looking at it.

Thanks for looking.
