The street light came on early tonight. The rain did not help. Might not be wise to stand in the street, in the rain and dark, looking up. The risks I take.

From my collection, a Kodak Dark Room Kerosene No. 2 Lantern. Used in darkrooms to throw red or amber light. Flip the front panel up for light, drop down to hide the light. Popular from 1890-1910.

I had asked for suggestions on an idea for today’s photo on Facebook. One of the suggestions was “Look Up”. I saw it on my phone, I was in the my yard, I looked up and there was the moon. I went grabbed the camera, came back to the same spot and a dragonfly lined up on a string of lights. Blur the moon out in the background and here is the photo.

Back to the Charles River Falls in Medway, this time painting them with light just after dusk. Set the tripod up downstream, then walked back to the falls to paint with a flashlight, keeping the tree and branches silhouetted. And the tree helped hide me and the light. Full(ish) moon kept the sky bright, the exposure is 30 seconds.

Light painted the bridge at the park tonight. Two and a half minute exposure, single flashlight painting the scene, with light from the lamp posts just out of frame on each side.

The wind was angry, I waited for moments where the clouds showed the moon.
