A different view of a setting sun on our small world.

I have photographed Kinsman Falls in Lincoln, NH more than any other waterfall. A simple falls, that is one of my favorite spots. More on history and memories than the falls itself. We spent a lot of time in NH when I was a kid, and I take my kids up often. Kinsman is just above the Basin, which was a popular stop on our trips. Every time I make the half mile trek up, it always looks different. This time I took the drone and a crystal ball. I have had this ball for years, for photos. Not sure why, but for the first time I threw it in the bag for this trip, glad I did. The drone was a challenge, lots of trees, I did the ‘small planet’ shot for the first time from a low altitude. I think it looks cool, love the trees reaching out. I am sure I will be back up there again before too long.

Not the first time the dailypic has been on the road, Vegas, DC, FLA, NH, San Fran, TX, Canada, off of which I had no concerns on posting, this time is different. We will see how this goes, the modern world is amazing and connected. If it works it works, if it does not, then a stream of dailypics might show up when I return, like a hose that was un-kinked.
Either way I promise you, at least one photo a day WILL be taken, the streak will stand strong and then some.

Snow Peek
December 8, 2013
Week two of Snowman Sunday 2013. I took a photo before my wife came home, tossed some lights around a few on a shelf tripod, long exposure… done, until she came home and said nope. What about this one. I mentioned before this is not my collection right. The snowmen that is, though when it comes to Sunday in December, the dailypic apparently is not even mine. Though I will publically admit, this is a far better photo than the first one. She was right.

Down Under
March 26, 2013
I got up at 3:40am so I could work with some coworkers in Perth Australia. We met about 4:30 my time, also 4:30 their time, just one was am and the other pm. Now my first choice would have been to take the 24 hour flight to the opposite side of the planet, conduct the 4 hour meeting then fly 24 hours back (and maybe take some photos while there of course) but, something about budgets and inefficient use of time, webinars… So, when I got home today I tried to explain to the kids what I did and who I spoke with. I guess it is a sign of the times, they did not seem to care. I know I would have been impressed if my Dad talked to someone in California, forget about it them being in a different country, the world seemed bigger when I was little. I pulled out the globe and showed them where Perth was and again, nothing. The only reaction I got was from my son who wanted to know why the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics was where Russia should be. I guess it might be time for a globe made after the cold war… I might also have an issue with the local school system now that I think about it, at least he knew it was supposed to be Russia. Bonus check out the full moon from tonight.
