Today was Career Day at Medway High School, and I was one of many community members invited in to talk about our jobs and how we got to where we are. I had planned to take a photo of each group, but I forgot — and ran out of time — with every class but one. Thanks to the teacher who grabbed this shot with my phone.
I’m not sure how much value a Medway High and Mass Bay grad who quit two colleges in under a year right out of high school, helped put a few companies out of business (including my own and Kodak) before age 35, who openly preaches against corporate America, and complains about having a terrible boss — I work for myself — can offer the next generation. But if anything landed, I hope it was the idea of resilience, adaptability, and maybe not taking the guest speaker at Career Day too seriously.
