So… not the Christmas we wanted, but the one we got. December 2nd, the house fire set a different plan this holiday season. Tree was tossed out of the house weeks ago. We can’t host in the current condition of the house, we decided no presents, but we would make the best of it. Usually, we stay in one spot for Christmas. This year the plan was to celebrate the eve with friends, then breakfast with my parents, stop by my in-laws and dinner at my daughter’s new apartment. Then the train hit me. If we can say the pandemic started in March 2020, then I made it over 1000 days without getting Covid. Considering how many people, kids, and schools, I interact with it is amazing I never got it. It just showed up, fast. A positive test was the only gift I got for Christmas. No refunds. All plans are gone. Last night and today I have not seen the family much. I was fine with it, is what it is, a month of nuisance, but nothing we won’t get past. Then after a day of rest, TV, and editing some vacation photos from the summer, I went on social media. And I get to see everyone’s family photos, not going to lie. It made me jealous. So masked up, facetime Anna, get them all behind me, and here we are, the Rice Christmas Photo 2022. Good health, no fires, and best wishes to my family and yours for the upcoming year.
For the next few days, I think you will be seeing some of those summer photos I never got to.

Wow! Covid is making a comeback! So many people have it.
December has not been a good month for the Rice Family but most important is that you have each other and this shall pass.
Happy and Healthy 2023!!
