Starudta’s wedding did not start the way one would plan. After three months of no rain in the area, we got three months of rain… in 20 minutes. I stepped onto the driveway to get into the truck and make the 5-minute drive to the Bride’s Family Home cameras ready. Then lighting cracked, and then it just poured. That word is not strong enough. There was wind, streams of water, and hail. I was soaked before I made it to the truck, and I never saw it coming. The 5-minute drive was 15 minutes long. Roads were flooded, and visibility was gone. I made it, and the outside wedding set up in the front yard was drenched. Fortunately, the tents were still intact, but people were everywhere trying to grab things flying off the tables, covering anything they could. We got the bridal party in the house with umbrellas, and the rain was gone in less than 20 minutes. The neighbors came out and helped clean off chairs, leaf blowers, and beach towels to the rescue and reset the whole thing. It was a sight to watch. Within the hour, everyone was seated, the sun was out, and the ceremony was beautiful. Collen and Bruce’s day was perfect, and it was an honor to be part of this special day, nothing was going to stop it, especially with family and friends like they have. Congratulations!
