Beautiful blue skies and great light this morning sent me out early for photos. It was all going great, then I got greedy, and I know better. Long story short, I had to hike a mile round trip in at times waist-high snow drifts through the woods and swamp in Medway – all in the hope to get to my crashed drone before the signal fails and I lose the location. It had to go down. I could at least place it just away from trees but on the frozen snow-covered swamp. I was not dressed for such a hike, but there I was, trying not to have a heart attack in wet jeans. All ended fine, and I recovered the drone. You can see its nesting spot below. It has been about 12 hours, and my legs are still chilled but my treks to Iceland prepared me for these missions. Soon, it was back in the air and taking more winter scenes over town.
