So, Dan and I took a road trip north today to meet the latest addition to the family, introducing Josephina Smalls the Great… or Josie for short. She is 12 days from coming home and becoming what might be the most photographed dog in the world, it helps she is representing Nikon colors. Josie is a 6 week old Bernese Mountain Dog. The family has been going crazy without a dog in the house since our friend Parker moved on. It has been time for awhile, with the addition finished, winter passed, a new fence in place, and any other excuses we had gone, it feels long overdue. You want to feel pure happiness and joy, go spend a beautiful Sunday morning hanging out with puppies. Dan and I were in heaven, 8 puppies, a few adults, all Bernies, just chilling in the sun. Thank God we had last pick of the litter, I have no idea how we could had made a decision. We arrived, Christine the host knew which was ours, picked her up handed her to me and the second she hit my shoulder, she nuzzled a bit and it was over… I got a new dog. Yes, we realize they are big dogs, yes, I have two jobs to pay for the food, yes, I know they shed, yes I have heard them all in the last few weeks, but just look at her. Her father Hummer was there to greet us, her mother’s name Anastasia influenced hers, though it was The Outfield’s ‘Your Love’ playing on the radio when Dan held her that sealed it. Josie will be here soon, it will be a long 12 days… well 11 Days 15 hours, 27 minutes….
