I think one of the things that define my middle-age years is the desire to replace as much of my lawn with anything but grass. Since 40 I have added an addition to the house, the barn, widened and extended the driveway by double, two new patios, mulch gardens, deck, paths, and a ton of river rocks. By the time I retire, I will be able to cut the grass with nail clippers.
