I once was told that a holiday was “made up”, I can’t recall which one they were referring to… my response was, they are all made up. The calendar is made up… there are no “natural holidays” that predate us. Anyway, it was not well received. I am sure they were aggravated with me since they were trying to make a different point, but today would be one of their made up days… National Puppy Day. How rude of me, I should had started with, Happy Puppy Day to you and yours! Sorry about that. We like Puppy Day. We like puppies. Last year the dailypic on puppy day was a stuffed Bernese Mountain Dog. I offered no explanation, but that was the day we let the kids in on the secret, we had a new puppy coming in about a month. It was a big deal, especially since it was very hard on the family when we lost Parker the previous year. A year later and Josie is a year old and a huge part of the family. We all vote, she deserves a day, made up or not. So again, Happy Puppy Day.
