Not the dailypic I had planned, but I am looking for something. A photo. I am usually good at knowing where all my photos are, but this one is old and rare, taken before camera phones, and I am not even sure if it was on digital or film. It will turn up; for now, I know it is not in one of the twenty albums I have buried in a closet. I searched them all in about 30 minutes. What I did find I had not expected to be looking for. I found my first house, both my kids births, Dogs – Penny, Molly, and Parker, trips, far and near, meeting President George H. W. Bush and his lovely wife Barbara, photo projects from my teens, my Mom’s surprise 50th birthday party, cars that I no longer have, hair that I no longer have, that I really needed to eat more before I ate too much, family who is no longer with us, friends I have lost one way or another, coworkers, I took a lot of photos on business trips with great people I never see anymore and most of all, I have had a great time. The biggest takeaway from the albums might sound strange, but I found I miss holding my kids. I am not in a ton of photos since I took most of them, but many I am holding either one or both of them. I miss that. There was a last time I held them high up off the ground, and I never knew. Go enjoy your photos. They hold power that only gets greater as time travels.

Beautifully said Tim. Looking at old photos brings lots of memories.. happy and sad but so important.
Love the picture of You and your daughter and son.
You are still holding them up just by being the man you are.

I too was never in a lot of photos….always behind the camera. All 3 of my boys now have digitized versions off all the photos and movies I had taken over their lives until most recently, put on thumb drives, huge thumb drives! Best gift I could have ever given them!
