Last night I wrote about not having a dailypic at 10:30 p.m. I took a photo of my equipment while packing for today’s job. Finished packing, posted the photo, and stepped out of the barn past 11 p.m. There in the sky is the most orange moon I have ever seen. Unlocked everything, got the camera and took this photos.

For those wondering, today was my first go as a school photographer in the school. I have done many on my own, but never set up in an actual school officially for student photos. Over the last five or so years I have been trying to get my version of school photos into a school. I have developed a process, done the research, it is a lot more than just taking a photo. I have learned so much. I believe they can be done locally, more efficiently with better pictures. Many schools, including my home town school listened to my proposals but continue to choose one of the larger operations. Today I started working with Tri-County Regional Vocational High School in the next town over in Franklin. They contracted me this spring to handle the photos for the school starting with this 2023/2024 school year. Today went great. With the support of their administration we developed a plan and I believe we are offering a great service to the families and the school itself. More to go, but having that first day go well makes me excited to keep growing.
