In the mid 90’s I had a one-hour photo lab in the Medway plaza. Right after I bought my store, the Market/Deli changed owners a few doors down. The new owners of Anne’s Market were Lori and Wayne. For the majority of the next 20 years, I ate wedding soup, honey chicken subs, or (the majority of the time) a large roast beef sub with lettuce, tomato, mayo, onion. A couple of years back, they moved from Medway to Norfolk. Medway has missed them ever since. I try to get over there a couple of times a month, and I always run into someone from town grabbing lunch.
Anne’s Market was a staple of Medway, even in Norfolk. They deserve to be part of my We Are Medway project. Now they are retiring and handing the shop over to new owners very soon. Thirty-four years in the business, two of the hardest working people I know, I am happy as they start the next journey. So early this morning, the dogs and I took a ride to visit them before they opened. Not only are they the best deli owners around, but they have also had Bernese Mountain Dogs. I try to bring them by the deli with me now and then for a visit. Each of my Berner puppies has stopped by Anne’s a day or so after we got them. Congratulations, Lori and Wayne. Love love love Lori and Wayne, they are such wonderful,kind,people, two of my children worked for them, they were blessed to have them as their employer at such young ages. I will miss them so very much❣❣❣ Wishing them a long and healthy retirement❣❣❣
