I have many projects in the works. I like to stay busy. Some projects are ideas on post-its, some make it to the to-do list with a plan, some jump right to development. This is one of them. It does not look like much, a GoPro mounted to a windshield of my truck. It is an idea that came from a day on the radio. Last December 24th a friend let me “co-host” a morning show on local station WMRC where he works. We hung out and played the parts of morning DJs, having fun, just talking and rambling as if no one was listening. During the commercial breaks talked of doing this more often, and thought of another friend that would be a great addition to our pointless conversation. Months later, brainstorming, planning, ideas, maybe a few nights at the bar and we have what we are calling Distracted Driving, a webisode series starring myself, Jay Pillarella and Ray Auger. The premise, we drive around and talk. There will be guests, we hope some humor, phone calls, and stuff we have not even planned. Those that know me might think this is something I would never do.  Not going to lie, I am one of them. This is outside my comfort zone.  I like my side of the camera, I like the control that looking though a lens gives me.  I get to direct and capture what I want, the way I see it. You do not need to see me, hear me, even know I am there.  The proof has always been the photos I have left behind. Well, things change, ages rise, people hit 40 and realize “why do I take myself so seriously”, go out have fun. So, I would like to thank my partners in this project for convincing me to be more than just an idea guy. We have plans, ideas and more post its. Tonight we “filmed” our first episode. It will be available to judge in a few days.  If you would like to join the fun, we are on twitter, facebook and youtube – click any of those, check us out. You can also watch the trailer below. For the record, timricephoto was once a project on a post-it too.
