I am lucky to have photographed many bands; this is my second time taking photos of Toad the Wet Sprocket, and they are on a different level of excitement for me. They are about my age, still playing after 30 years, sound great, and are the soundtrack to my late teens/early adulthood. This show was special because my wife and I got to meet them, I have had chances to meet them in the past, but it just never worked out. Tonight we got the VIP package, so we got to get a photo with and talk briefly with Glen, Dean, and Todd (Sadly no Randy on this tour). Glenn even held a photo I took of the band a few years back. Then the three of them played some songs acoustically for a small crowd. It was a perfect night for a show in a park. After a couple of songs, I put the camera back in the bag and just enjoyed it. There was an incredible opening act named Terra Lightfoot – highly recommend checking her out too.
