The moon, a crowd favorite. Anyone who has taken a class from me knows, this is something I talk about… maybe too much. The moon is not a night shot, it is a daylight shot. The moon is lit by the sun, so let your camera think it is daytime. Now the new camera is an upgrade for photos like this, simply due to more megapixels. Let’s me crop a bit more while maintaining resolution. Believe it or not this is a hand held photo, no tripod, specs: Nikon D850, ISO 2500, 1/640, F5.6, 70-200mm lens on a 1.7x teleconverter bringing it to a 310mm lens. Could have bumped the ISO up a little more to get a faster shot, the camera weighs nothing, but the lens + converter… makes the whole thing top heavy, could have been a tad sharper, but the clouds rolled in and this will do for the first test of the new toys.
