Today I learned while listening to Ray on Raydio – you should listen to it too, check him out here – I learned today is national sticker day. That helped because this time of year, finding a dailypic sometimes feels like a chore. So here is my collection of stickers for your viewing pleasure, plastered all over my large-format printer. What is sticker day? Great question, I stole the following from Google:
National Sticker Day is celebrated every year on January 13th, honoring R. Stanton Avery, who invented the first self-adhesive label in 1935. This day, founded by StickerGiant in 2016, celebrates the history, fun, and creative uses of stickers, from decoration to personal expression.
Why January 13th?
- R. Stanton Avery’s Birthday: The date marks the birthday of the inventor of the modern sticker.
- StickerGiant’s Record: It also commemorates StickerGiant’s Guinness World Record for the World’s Largest Sticker Ball, set in 2016, the year the day was officially started.
How to Celebrate
- Share your favorite stickers using #NationalStickerDay.
- Decorate your laptop, water bottle, or planner with stickers.
- Explore different types of stickers, like die-cut, holographic, or clear.
