the dailypic 4748 yr13 365 #4748

Today is the last dailypic of year 13. Number 4748 overall, with number 1 starting on October 1, 2009. This one snuck up, even though every night I post a photo with two numbers, one being the count up to the entire year and the other being the total since day one. Somehow, this year’s finale just got here. I never saw it coming. Usually, it is a representation of the number, but that stressed me out this evening since I am far too busy to be creative for that sole purpose, so this is the shot: a pen, a notepad, and four digits. Friday night, three hours before my birthday, this is my life. Sitting in front of three screens, a disorganized desk, paperwork waiting to be done, edits needing to be done, and lists of people I need to reach out to, my life has been very different since year 13 started. My job status has gone from working a corporate job that was not healthy for me with a side job of photography that kept me sane – to being a full-time, self-employed photographer and honestly happier than ever. The photo business is busier than ever, which I was never nervous about. I knew it had another gear or two when needed. It is challenging because I am in the busiest part of my busiest season. It is overwhelming at times. There is stress, pressure on me, placed by me, to grow, and with growth comes growing pains.

At the end of the day, no matter what, though, I would change nothing except maybe clean my desk. If you just started following the dailypic, thank you. If you have been here since day 1, thank you. Like me, it has no intent to end anytime soon, so there will be more. Tomorrow’s numbers will be 4749 with a 001 chaser. Together, we will see what the next 365 days have in store. Two things I do know are day #5000 is June 10, 2023, and at the end of the following year’s worth of photos, I hit 50.

Happy belated birthday! Thanks for your artistic talent and ability to see what many of us do not, then get a photo of it and making us “look” I thought you were 50…. Oooooops.
