Day 11 – Last blog for me. Thank you for entertaining me over the past 11 days with your presence. And thanks for your patience. I realize, after writing this and posting many… many photos, how long winded I can be! But I thoroughly enjoyed sharing aspects of my life with you through iPhotography. Thank you Tim for gifting me this honor. We are all looking forward to seeing your photos from your trip to Cuba! Today was my 14th anniversary with my wife Molly. 14 consecutive years and so far so good! Normally we hit the town (of Milford) and grab dinner at a local eatery then get really crazy by ending the night with some Christmas shopping at Kohl’s… or if we’re really feeling nutty… Target. But tonight we made the trip into the Big City. I had my eye on a custom t-shirt shop for some Christmas gifts… and perhaps an anniversary gift for myself. But it was closed! They locked up the doors 30 minutes before closing time. Bad form. But luckily we crossed the street when we spotted a storefront with a bit of clutter in the windows. And I’m a sucker for clutter. I immediately recognized this store as a location from the Bad Marriage video for their song Old School Stereo. Rick Walker’s… a fanboy shop for lovers of all things vintage. Boots, t-shirts, western-wear, hats, jewelry, pins, belts and more! What makes Rick Walker’s extra enjoyable is the hodge podge of items scattered around the store that’s not for sale. An Elvis decorated guitar, a fake snake in a cage, a LIVE chicken in a cage. Every inch, every corner catches the eye. It’s the kind of place you observe and study while making mental wishlists that will bring you back sooner than you plan. We met Rick himself and Rachel who both reside here in Medway… a surprising cosmic connection. Wonderful people who were very welcoming. Rick Walker’s on Newbury Street.. not just a vintage store… a vintage experience. I didn’t buy anything this time around, but I’ll be back… sooner than I plan to.
