You could hear the trees. A freeze overnight did not last long, as the sun rose, it made quick work of the cold. Sent the drone to capture the mist fog and contrast.

I went for a walk. Took six shots. It was very peaceful out, a calmness in the air. Nothing will look the same in 24 hours.

You thought there would be snow photos, right? Seemed obvious, but after three hours of removing it from the driveway and a few neighbors’ driveways too, and a crappy cold, I found myself just sitting in the studio watching my birds. They were watching me, too. Over an hour, I had 6 Blue Birds and plenty of others, but stuck with the photos of the blues in the overcast light that made them pop.

There was a heat wave today. It felt like beach weather compared to the last few weeks. I used my “penny people” (all a little bigger than a penny in size), a macro lens, and a strategically placed hunk of ice to capture this, avoiding all the frozen ‘gifts’ and yellow snow my dogs have decorated the yard with.
