Moose stopped by during student photo day at Medway High, and naturally, he got his own portrait. Here’s hoping they find a spot for him in this year’s yearbook—he certainly deserves one.

The 2025 Football and Cheer Mustangs are set for a unique season. Even their team photo turned out differently this year. With the home field at Hanlon under renovation, we couldn’t use the traditional stands. Fortunately, a new set of bleachers was delivered to North Field just hours before photos began. They held the whole team without issue, giving us this year’s team shot. Here’s to a strong season, no matter what field they play on.

When you’re in a crowded park and you know where the heron is—but no one else does—you head to the other side of the bushes where you’ll have a clear view. You get low, because you know every inch of this park, and you sit right down on the grass with your long lens, five feet from a bush along the busy walkway. To everyone else, you look like you’ve lost your mind Shooting frame and frame. You hear a kid say, “Mommy, why…,” only to be cut off by, “Just keep walking.” It’s fine—I know plenty of cops in town.

A first for me—a katana in a senior session. Jocelyn casually mentioned she had a sword and asked if we could use it. Of course. Without it, the portraits were already strong, but the addition of the blade elevated the session even more. And this is the real deal—she’s a second-degree black belt. I took her at her word… you see, since she had a katana and all.
