30 years ago today in the middle of hurricane Bertha, I gave her a ring, asked her a question. I loved her answer and always will.

I am reaching a point where the ‘kids’ I photographed over the years in school are now adults and are getting married. I am so excited for Marie and Tommy; they got engaged right before Christmas. The next day, we started planning their engagement session. We held off hoping for some snow, and today was the day. These sessions are extra special when I have seen them grow up and start their next chapters. Even better when we can get nature to give us the setting we hoped for.

I was honored to take photos of a unique proposal a few weeks back. I was asked to hold on to share for a bit so everyone could find out before the pictures went up. Matt had set up a photo session with the Southwick Zoo that, unknown to her, turned into a marriage proposal. We took some photos with the deer and fed and walked among them. Then without Allison knowing, her family and friends were brought in for the big moment. It was a perfect evening that ended with a “yes.”

Meghan and Phil got engaged tonight. A beautiful surprise set up by Phil at one of their favorite spots – Choate Park in Medway. Congratulations to the great couple. Thank you for letting me document your night.

Before we go too far, Colleen said yes. I have known Patrick since he was a kid, part of a great family in town that I was lucky to get to know and become friends with through baseball. So when he wrote to me a few weeks back to ask me if I photographed proposals, I was excited and felt old at the same time. He filled me in on the plan. We were going to meet at Merrimac College, where he met his future bride while they both attended. They met in Deegan Hall, now have a six-month-old puppy – named Deegan, who would be the excuse for the photo session. A perfect day, a quiet campus. We walked around for a bit, working our way to the planned spot where he would ask the question. It all went perfectly. Our session with Deegan turned into an engagement session, and I got to hear the story of how they met while touring their campus and their recent past. Here is to a long future. Thank you for having me document this part of your story.
