I spent the day touring Ellis Island, a private tour of the off-limits sections, the hospital, medical living quarters, pharmacy, morgue, and the highly infectious disease ward. It was an incredible experience. When it was over, I hopped over to Liberty Island. I will need a few days to go through all the Ellis photos. For now, here’s a quick shot of the Lady.

Another few digitized negatives. 1993, from the top of the Empire State Building. I did not even know I had these frames, from a trip I took to see the Late Show with Letterman. They were taken with a Pentax K1000 and Kodak TMX 400 film. This is proof of how photos can become more than the moment they were taken.

Came across my binder of negatives from my first years of photography classes. A black and white image taken in 1993 from the top of the Empire State Building. It was never printed, glossed over it at the time on the contact sheet. Shot the negative today to digitize it.

We went to the Star Wars Costume Exhibit in Times Square, featuring 70 Original Costumes (and one replica). It was awesome to see some of these up close. Now I could have done without the endless Princess Amidala outfits, it is like Lucas made the prequels to satisfy a dress fetish. Anyway, it was a great exhibit, lots of interesting facts and the droids were so close you could touch them if you did not mind being dragged out. Only complaint – no Kylo Ren.
