Well, the end of November, I just finished the busiest three months Tim Rice Photo has ever had, thank you for all who were part of it. More Weddings, Senior Photos, Mini and Family Sessions than ever. Onward and upward, but a quick break first. Ray Auger will be posting in this space for the next 11 days while I am in Cuba, off the grid, still taking photos but without access to the wired world. I promise to share all my photos when I am back. Please follow Ray though in my absence – I have no idea what he has planned; it is all up to him, I look forward to catching up on the dailypic when I get home. My first vacation from the dailypic in 3349 days, but it still will go on. As for that other ‘little project’ – the new barn, Tucker Construction will be handling that one. I am excited to see what gets done while I am gone. I can not recommend Tucker Construction enough, great guys who are the best at what they do. They are making it easy to no worry about my new studio while I am gone. I am sure my family will give them directions while I am gone if the barn becomes a gourmet kitchen with a gaming room I know who to blame. Adiós por ahora, volveré pronto.

Found an old Lensbaby lens I don’t use much any more while organizing today. It is called the Spark, a plastic accordion type of thing. You manually focus by flexing and pulling the accordion part of the lens until you get the distortion you like.

Another year complete, making it a set of seven. Seven years completed, new photo every day. Tomorrow is day 001/365, I love when the year is new, I have said it before, the weight of the 300’s is heavy. Each year I assume I have less viewers, each year I get a handful of new ones. Some do not realize the history of this project. New photo every day, taken on that day (it is rare it is not I promise you). It started as a 31 day project, on October 1, 2009 when it was just the photo. The words and blog showed up on September 30, 2012. Today marks the end of 6 years of shooting the dailypic, 2191 consecutive days starting back on October 1, 2009. I just went through the year 6 set, and each year takes on a personality to me, this one feels like a 6th child. Kind of did what it wanted, gave me problems, but I was too tired to care. There is a closure each 30th of September. I feel the difference, I get a new energy, refocused, I like beginnings… and endings. To the viewer it might not seem different, but trust me, tomorrow starts something new. I find myself less likely to quit when the numbers are low, for whatever reason the days feel heavier when they are in the 300’s.
