Today we made the drive from Galway to Killarney, with unforgettable stops along the way. After checking into the hotel, I decided I hadn’t driven enough and announced I was going to catch the sunset on the Dingle Peninsula. Target: Dunquin Pier. It was 92 minutes away, with 100 minutes until sunset. My wife joined me. We hit a train crossing, got stuck behind an RV, navigated a biker pack, and crawled along some of the narrowest streets in a country known for them. Along the way were so many sights that deserved their own photos—but we pressed on. We arrived with five minutes to spare. My wife took a higher path (a wiser choice in hindsight), and I spotted her walking the cliff as the sun dropped. A quick phone call, a bit of remote posing, and I had 30 seconds to line her up before the sun disappeared. Three hours of driving. Five minutes of light. Worth it.
