The third contribution to my ode to 2020, my Gas Lighting Series. This time: The Bride. In a year where weddings changed, moved, downsized, and in some cases disappeared, it seemed fitting that a Bride be part of the Gas Lighting Series. Now, not just any bride, my last scheduled bride of 2020 from two days before. This is Sam; on Saturday (Sunday’s dailypic) she looked gorgeous as she married Tim. Check out some of their photos if you want here. A quick text the next day after an epiphany while I was driving, and she agreed to bring the dress and bouquet out for another session, this time at my studio in the midst of some fog machine work. Minutes later she was part of the project. Still looking for models for this series. The others have been more risque, but they seem to take on their own personality. Thank you to Sam for your willingness to take the direction of this project needed, I added another photo from Saturday to show how the beautiful the dress and bride really were.

It felt like spring outside today, so a wedding seemed right. I kicked off my 2020 wedding season early with this perfect January event. The joining of families, Brenda, David, and their kids celebrated and I was honored to be part of it. Congratulations!

Sam and Mark got married tonight. A couple from my hometown, with a great story, awesome friends and family, and expert precision. We were on fire, getting the shots they wanted, the most efficient wedding photos I have ever done – the spreadsheet, list loving, data geek in me was in heaven, I loved it. Congratulations guys, I wish you nothing but happiness.

In January this couple came to one of my first photo classes at my studio (subtle plug: July classes are set for 16th and 23rd, space available) a great time was had by all. A couple months later, I get an email asking me to photograph their wedding! Tonight was the night. Congratulations Dana and Mary, thank you for letting me be part of your day. I feel obligated to mention – they were a couple long before my class, I had nothing to do with them getting together, though that would be an awesome story and great for ads.
