Cold night. Frozen pond. Lights and an upright bass. We took to the park after dark just to see what would happen. My son, Dan, with his upright, and a few more frames with Hailey—one of my previous “fun with light” models. No big plan, just playing with light in the cold. If you want to jump in, or know someone who would make a good model, let me know. We’ve got more cold nights coming.

Medway always had a car show when I was a kid. The last one I remember was in 1998 — it was my daughter’s first outing, she was just a week old. I’m not sure when the shows stopped, but I think it was not long after that. This year, the Medway Historical Society brought it back. I enjoyed focusing on the details — close-up work, reflections, badges, and curves. There were so many incredible cars, with a few personal favorites. You can never go wrong with a ’60s Mustang. Huge thanks to the Historical Society, the Lions, and everyone who worked hard to make it happen. I hope it was a success; it was certainly enjoyed by all who came.

Felt like a speed round in Ireland today— on the last day. Starting with the Blarney Stone, not my top choice, which somehow managed to take forever. From there, we hit as many spots as we could on the way to Kilkenny. One of the best stops was Cobh, beginning at St Colman’s Cathedral. Perched above the colorful town, the church is massive, ornate, and impossible to ignore. Wish we’d had more time to explore there, but I did manage to line up this silhouette with the sun perfectly balanced on the spire before we moved on.

We saw plenty today, but meeting Deaglan, his dogs, and his donkey in the heart of Dingle was a highlight. A busker in a Boston hat someone had given him. He offered to trade for my Reykjavik hat—a favorite of mine—so I had to politely decline. He was not very attached to the Sox hat. We chatted for a while, I fed the donkey, and his dog—balanced on the donkey’s back—posed like a pro.
